Steps
Step 1: Purchase the Correct Wiper Blades
-
Check your car’s manual or measure your existing blades.
-
Wipers are usually sold in sizes ranging from 12–28 inches.
-
Buy blades from a trusted brand (e.g., Bosch, Rain-X, Michelin).
Step 2: Lift the Wiper Arm
-
Pull the wiper arm away from the windshield until it stands perpendicular to the glass.
-
Be careful not to let it snap back—it could crack the windshield.
Step 3: Remove the Old Wiper Blade
-
Hook: Press the small tab and slide the blade downward to unhook.
-
Pin: Press the release button and slide the blade out.
-
Side-Lock / Bayonet: Press tab or button and slide blade sideways.
- Gently remove the old blade.
- Dispose of it properly.
Step 4: Attach the New Wiper Blade
-
Align the new blade with the arm’s hook or attachment.
-
Slide it in until it clicks or locks into place.
-
Ensure the blade is securely attached by giving it a gentle tug.
Step 5: Lower the Wiper Arm Carefully
-
Slowly lower the arm back onto the windshield.
-
Repeat the process for the other side.
Step 6: Test the New Wipers
-
Turn on your car’s wipers to ensure smooth operation.
-
Check for streaks, skipping, or noise—adjust if necessary.
