Steps
Put coco peat brick tub or bucket.
Put the coco peat brick in a tub or large bucket.
Add water to the coco peat brick.
Add water to the tub to soak the coco peat. Leave it for a few minutes for the brick to absorb water. Keep adding more water as needed.
Collect the soften coco peat in separate tub or pots.
Once water is added to the coco peat brick, it starts to soften and you will be able to collect it.
Soak the coco peat extract in water again.
Once you have extracted all soften and separated coco peat, wash it again in order to reduce acidic level.
Wash the coco peat again
After washing the coco peat extract, flush off the water and obtain the final coco peat that will be mixed with soil and organic manure.
Mix Soil and Manure
This ratio and composition depends upon the type of plants you are looking to use the coco peat for.
Put the potting mix in pots or germination tray for use
Once the potting mix is ready, get it to use by putting it in germination tray, pot or anyway you like to use it. Remember that coco peat does not have any nutrition in it and plants will depend on fertilizer for growth. Here is growth showing Tecoma seedling after 5 days.
